Turn real output into an evolving grammar, vocabulary, sound, and comprehension curriculum.
Keep originals. Growth becomes visible through fewer recurring gaps, richer accurate choices, faster retrieval, better intelligibility, and more independent repair.
A real task should mix tense, noun phrases, modality, clauses, verb patterns, vocabulary, cohesion, and sound. Focused drills repair one part; integrated production proves it works under competition.
evidence exact sentence or timestamp
analysis form, meaning, vocabulary, sound, comprehension
contrast wrong choice versus intended choice
practice controlled examples → guided output → real output
retest new context after 1 day, 1 week, 1 month
Good plan names exact evidence, one language contrast, controlled exercise, guided production, real use, and delayed retest. “Study grammar more” is not an actionable cycle.
An official IELTS sample can occasionally test transfer under standard conditions. It should identify language gaps, not replace grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, comprehension, and real communication practice.
Retest same language function in a new context. Repeating identical answers measures memory for exercise, not flexible English.
Use Council of Europe CEFR descriptors for broad capability and the practice loops for continuing work.
